Hyderabad to Auli (My last Trip of 2019 and A new beginning to 2020)

(Hyderabad- Delhi-Haridwar-Mussoorie-Joshimath-Auli-(back to Joshimath)-Rishikesh-Delhi-Hyderabad)

Auli is a hill station in the state of Uttarakhand and one of the most beautiful place in the upper ranges of Himalaya.

Recently, I have been to Auli from Hyderabad with my friend, A group of 6 people in the month of December.

So here I am sharing my experience and complete Itinerary to help you out to plan your trip. It was not the best-planned trip, you can always customize it further as per your requirement.

Day 1: Arrive at Delhi

Delhi to Mussoorie Distance 290KM

Travel Time: 8 hours

We took morning 5.55 AM flight from Hyderabad and reached Delhi by 8.30 AM with a cold welcome of 4-5 degrees Celsius. we already started feeling the cold waves of Himalaya.

We had already pre-booked SUV from GOZO taxi services to reach Mussoorie from Delhi Airport via Haridwar sight seen.

The roads are quite good, we took many breaks during our journey for breakfast, lunch and also visited Chanda Devi temple(There is a ropeway called Udan Khotola to go to the top) and seen Ganga Aarti.

We reached Mussoorie by 9 PM. There is various Accommodation at Mussoorie that are Ideal for the different budget plans. you can book hotels as per your budget.

Day 2: Mussoorie to Joshimath

Distance: 325 Km

Time: 12 hours

Cost: INR 12,000 SUV

We didn’t have a proper Itinerary for our day 2 and that’s why it cost us more. The only thing which we were sure about is our destination Auli.

It’s a long drive through mountain roads from Mussoorie to Auli.

So our day to completed went on-road travel, we couldn’t even get time to explore Mussoorie. I would suggest that if you want to travel Auli takes a break at Haridwar or Rishikesh instead of Mussoorie.

In Joshimath, you won’t get many hotel options online through the booking site. We booked a hotel from OYO it was a very bad experience, Its advisable to directly reach there and book the hotel.

Day 3: Joshimath to Auli

Distance:16KM

Time:3 Hours

We booked cab from Joshimath to Auli Ropeway, you can opt for a shared cab or state transport as at your convenience.

If you want to get the ropeway ticket starts early unlike us. The Ropeway covers a distance of 4 KM/30 Mins (Its Asia’s second-highest and longest Ropeway) and ticket per person is INR 1000/-

We couldn’t get Ropeway tickets as we reached a little late and it was peak period so there is another point from where through “Car lift” which charges INR 300/- one can reach to Auli. Finally, we reached Auli, witness snow everywhere, one can definitely fall in love with the beauty of it.

You can enjoy some activities like Skating over there.

After spending almost 3 hours, we came back to Joshimath and decided to stay in the same hotel.

Day 4: Joshimath to Rishikesh

Distance: 255KM (8 hours)

Cost:5500

We stared around 7AM in the morning from Joshimath and reached Rishikesh 4PM on 31^st December.

Rishikesh offers many Adventures sports like Rafting, Rappelling, Bungee Jumping, Kayaking and many more.so if you want to enjoy all these activities plan your trip accordingly.

We could only visit Ram Jhula, enjoy the street food and celebrate the new year at our Resort.

In Rishikesh you can get many Accommodation options.

Day 5: Rishikesh to Delhi (Back to Hyderabad from Delhi)

Distance:240 KM

Cost: INR 6000 SUV

Its Day 5, last day of our trip. we had a flight at 9PM so stared early in the morning from Rishikesh to Delhi.

We booked our cab from the GOZO taxi service as we liked their service on the first day.
