MULLAYANAGIRI (HILL TOP AMIDST CLOUDS)

Mullayanagiri is a must visit place for the nature lovers. The view from the top of the peak is outstanding and very much scenic. It seems to be a more adventurous journey during the rainy season, as you can see and feel many temporary water falls by the roadside. It’s an awesome place to visit during the monsoon at the same time a little bit dangerous during these times as the roads becomes more slippery and you may face some road blocks due to heavy rainfall.

We started our journey from Hyderabad by taking an overnight bus to shimoga. We reached at shimoga in the morning and then we go by a local bus to chikmagalur from shimoga.
You can book a taxi directly from shimoga or else can take the KSRTC bus from shimoga to chikmagalur.
We stayed at the chikmagalur as the journey from shimoga to chikmagalur is also about 3 hrs. We were very tired and took rest for 1 or 2 hrs at chikmagalur. Then we booked a taxi from chikmagalur to visit the mullayanagiri peak. You can book and stay in between the coffee plantation as there are number of homestays are available with different price ranges inside the coffee plants area.
It was the month of august and due to the rainy season we enjoyed a lot during the visit to the peak. There were number of temporary waterfalls we came across on our way.
At last we reached at the peak, you have to trek for 2 km to 3 km to reach at the top of mountain. There was a lovely temple at the top. It was raining heavily and the wind was very strong at the top. As the rain drops hit the face due to the heavy wind, we can feel like somebody is slapping us at our face. We reach at the top at the evening time as it was very cloudy and raining heavily, we could not enjoyed the sunset but the view due to the rain and the cloud was quite awesome and beautiful.

On the way to Mullayanagiri you can see a number place like small waterfalls, a Dargah, coffee plantations etc.

It was a very awesome and memorable trip due to the season and scenic beauty of the place.
